Ladies and gentlemen I think we can officially say that summer has arrived. I’ve been waiting to kick off my summertime makeup series until the city really heated up. Considering the weather apps are predicting temperatures in the regency of 30 degrees, which is a near on impossible occurrence in the UK, I’m going to grab this opportunity with both hands and declare the Summer Makeup Series a go! A tricky one considering when we are blessed with these scorchers of a day our makeup doesn’t generally play ball. Instead it tends to slide north sooner than we would like! This series will include a couple of tips to achieve a summertime look for those hot days whilst also injecting a smidgen of colour to liven things up :)

For this look I like to call it the berry take over, no longer am I holding my favourite purple hues hostage for those winter months. Welcome to summertime my dear purples, it’s a whole new world! Before I talk about that hue upon my lips we need to get our bases covered and for this I’ve cracked out the Kevin Aucoin Sensual Skin Tinted Balm in SB02. This was actually the base use on my friend at her SpaceNK wedding makeup trial thanks to it’s long lasting properties whilst still retaining that natural finish so I simply had to reintroduce it to my daily makeup routine.

A touch of powder from my Bourjois Healthy Balance to lock things in place followed by the Collection Speedy Blush Stick in the shade 02 Cheeky to lift my cheeks whilst giving them a rose hue and now all that’s left is bronzer. You may have spotted this mighty fine looking item casually sitting in the corner of my photo. What’s that? A Kevin Aucoin Celestial Bronzing Veil in the shade Tropical Days?! Again, this got used on my friends bridal trial and after one swipe I was hooked. Ranging from a bronze through to highlight, this little palette alone can help to shape and define your face whilst leaving it with the most gorgeous looking glow. It is simply beautiful!

Eyes again fuss free, just a light application of the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in the shade Golden Bronze buffed out along the crease paired with a mascara that gives me lashings of volume (thank you Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara*). Finally. The purple lip. All thanks to Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Aria 40* that you can pick up on everyones favourite online beauty haven, Cult Beauty. Applied directly from the doe foot applicator, colour in intense, however here I’ve blended it out with my fingers and popped a small bit of the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Mega Gloss in Protest Queen on top to keep it natural. Summer makeup done!
