Thanks to my lovely housemate (and his large MAC that made editing these photos a very scary experience, no one should see their face that big!) I am able to bring to you a What’s On My Face blog post. This is the makeup look that I wore yesterday for Mother’s Day, it contains slightly more makeup and products compared to what I use for my daily work routine, but it still leaves a natural finish on my skin. As I have a couple of pesky blemishes that have popped up the joys of being a woman aye I opted for one of my all time favourite bases – the Origins Plantscription Foundation*. This offers great coverage when it comes to spots and areas of redness, but it still lightweight on the skin and gives a slightly dewy finish. As I wanted my makeup to last all day I used what was left of my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural to power my T-Zone. Concealer was left to my reliable Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and Nip + Fab CC Eye Fix* for under my eyes. For cheeks I went for Nars Laguna as a contour and Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Peach Whisper on the apples on my checks and blended up towards the temples. To add a bit of highlight and to intensify the colour on my cheeks I popped on some MAC Skinfinish in Stereo Rose (which everyone needs in their lives!)

Next was time for the eyes. To act as a base and to neutralise my eyelids I used my MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study. I broke out my Inglot Palette and used shades Pearl 452 and 402 to give a soft smokey eye with plummy undertones, then for the inner corner highlight and brow highlight I used my trusty MAC Neturals Palette. To vamp up the volume when it came to lashes I turned to my Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers then applied lashings of my L’Oreal Mega Volume Collagene Mascara and Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara. What I have recently starting doing is applying eyeliner to only the outer quarter of my waterline and tightline. This adds a subtle smokeyness to my eye without making it look smaller and closed up. To complete the look was MAC’s Plumful on the lips and the L’Occitane Brightening Mist* to set it all in place.

And there you have it! A look ready for lunch out with your Mum or an occasion where you want to vamp up your eyes a bit for a special meal out.
