Evening Skincare Routine

evening skincare routine

One routine that I’ve managed to stick to throughout the years is my skincare routine. Once I finally understood what my skin needed and complemented that with the right products, I was able to changeup my skin, target those problem areas and overall boost my complexion and my confidence. Although my kettle bell has a layer of dust and I’m not 100% sure where my gym pass actually is, my evening skincare routine is not something I often miss.

In the PM I like to keep things simple. Eye cream is reserved for the morning as for some reason any evening eye cream action results in some seriously puffy eyes when my alarm clock rings. The same is also said for toning as in the morning I go in with a AHA based product to keep my skins texture in shape. Therefore before I hit the lad of nod I ensure to cleanse and moisturise. The cleansing duo you see pictured above won’t be any surprise. The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil and Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel are still the dream duo. One to remove the makeup and one to cleanse, nothing can beat these two hero products!

Twice a week I go in with my Alpha H Liquid Gold. If ever your skin is misbehaving, looking a tad lacklustre or just needing a kick back into shape, you need this in your life. I’m almost at the end of my second bottle and a repurchase is imminent. I can never be without it and even take some away to prevent my skin from breaking out just remember to go in with a high SPF the next day! Finally it’s oil time and for this I’m using the Aurelia Probiotic Cell Repair Night Oil. It hydrates, plumps and is packed full of vitamins and nutrients. The final steps that ensures I awake with rested and revitalised looking skin.

One step I am missing however is serum, I’m yet to find that one serum I love and need your recommendations! Let me know what you’ve favourite serum is and which one I need to add into the mix :)

  • I have loved the Oskia Cleanser a lot! I also have the Camomile Butter, which I think is very similar to the Oil. You’re right, it’s a great combo for cleansing. As a serum it depends on what your concerns are. I think you should find a good hydrating serum, one that works well on everyone and you can’t go wrong.
Liquid Gold is on my wish list, though I stay away from BHA and AHA in summer.

Love it! I need to pick up an AHA based product – I don’t currently have one in my routine.

  • I love both the Oskia cleanser and Liquid Gold, but I haven’t tried the other products you’ve mentioned. I’ve heard a lot of rave reviews about The Body Shop skincare, though, so I have no excuses to give their cleansing oil a try now! The Aurelia oil sounds divine, too! My favourite night oils are the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate or the Sarah Chapman Overnight Facial :)

  • That Jo Malone tile is so pretty isn’t it? I spray it with my scent of the moment and hang it with the clothes! I love Oskia too but lately have only been using the Aurelia Miracle Cleanser and it is so so good! The fact that it removes much easier than any other balm is just genius! I want to try everything from Aurelia now!
