Fuss Free Lipsticks

On a long bank holiday weekend that last thing you want to do is be fussing and faffing over your makeup collection. Yes, you finally have some time on your hands to nail that perfect contoured look, however instead my diary is filled with plans of naps, Netflix, mini eggs and more naps. Anyone else with me?! If you too are indulging in a more paired back and relaxed long weekend I thought I would showcase some of my favourite fuss free lipsticks. You know the ones, lippies you can apply without a mirror or liner that you throw into your bag and end up collecting 12 of by the time it comes to the end of the week. And shock, they all fall into the soft light pink nude spectrum ;)

Super Fuss Free – when it comes to a lipstick that doesn’t require much thought or preparation it’s got to be the Clinique Chubby Stick. Not only is the packaging suited to a fuss free approach, the shade 06 Woppin’ Watermelon first in the lineup just matches your lips leaving a hint of colour behind that doesn’t bleed outside your lips throughout the day.

Budget – one of my HG drugstore lipsticks has to be the L’Oreal Color Riche in Julianne’s Nude. Not only am I obsessed with the smell, you can see from the impressive dent in the bullet that this gets a lotta love. Second up in the lineup you get a softer shade that packs a bit less colour however brings more hydration making it great for when your lips aren’t in the most perfect condition.

With a bit of gloss – if I’m not using the L’Oreal lippy then it will be the MAC Cremesheen in Peach Blossom that I throw into my bag. You would have seen this in my Top Mac Lipsticks video that you can see here as it’s natural kiss of colour to the lips with that subtle hint of shine making it super wearable day to day.

Fuss Free Colour – sometimes you want your fuss free colour to pack a little more of a punch. I’m not talking a bold bright red over here but maybe a stronger pigment to take a look from daytime to drinks after work. After clearing through my lipstick draws I rediscovered the Revlon Lip Butters anyone remember them?! Especially the shade 090 Sweet Tart. Awful name however fab bold colour that is moisturising, blends on a dream and works without a primer or a liner.

What are your favourite fuss free lipsticks to rock on the daily and throw into your bag?

  • Your plans for the Easter weekend sound perfect, enjoy lovely! I really like Gosh’s range of matte lipsticks cos even though they’re matte and full of colour, they’re comfortable to wear and I don’t have to worry about touching up every 5 minutes which is fab! x

I used to have the Jordana Lip Stains in my bag, because they were the only lip products that I could apply without a mirror, they were so good!!!

    • You can’t beat those lipsticks you can throw in your bag and apply throughout the day without any fuss!xx

  • I just found a Revlon Lip Butter in my room before I read this post. I agree completely that they are totally fuss free, moisturising and there are some gorgeous colours for them as well! My Clinique Chubby Stick is another firm favourite as well – I might have to invest in this shade as it really is gorgeous!

  • I still have 6 of the lip butters from when they first came out and I was obsessed with them! Really should make use of them more, especially in the warmer months as they’re so fuss free :)

  • I love having a selection of fuss free lipsticks in my bag just in case, as you never know. And being fuss free, no mirror required! Love that Loreal shade xo

  • I have odd pigmentation in my lips, so always use a lip liner to even this out. My fuss free picks would be something with a shine like the Rimmel Moisture Renue lipsticks because mattes are high maintenance with dry lips. If I’m feeling really laid back I’ll go for a lip liner & a gloss instead of a lipstick. Xx

  • The amount of curvature you’ve put into that MAC lipstick is incredible. I’ve found that it’s only these kinds of easy, reliable lipsticks that I can finish up (Revlon lip butter Pink Truffle is mine).

  • I looooooove tinted lip balms. Easy and fool-proof to apply, even without a mirror, but you still get a subtle bit of color! Right now I’m really loving my Wet ‘n Wild Juicy Lip Balms.

  • The Revlon lip butters have been a favourite ever since they were released – I love how easy they are to apply and so pigmented! :)
