Ice Blonde with Vixen & Blush

I did it. After the snip, after embracing the shorter style and new bounce I had naturally in my locks, I couldn’t resist getting some blonde added back into the tips to spruce up the colour and lift the sections in the back that had gotten rather dark. Over the years of being a blonde I’ve gone from white blonde through to yellow blonde through to my now natural colour mixed in with blonde tips. I’m loving this more natural look, not only is it so much easier maintenance wise no one likes getting their roots done every 4-6 weeks it also adds the shine back into my locks.

For this colour trip I headed to Vixen & Blush in their new central location just off Oxford Street. Now you may have heard of these haircare mavens before for their popular and leading stance in the hair extension world. After having my hair chopped I wasn’t looking for some added length, instead I popped by to give their colour services a whirl and to try something new out on the lengths of my hair. Thats right instead of sticking with the usual honey blonde golden tones I went icy. After falling for icy blonde styles over on Pintrest I knew I wanted to shake up my colour palette without stepping too far outside the box.

This is where toning comes into play. The processed started with backcombing (to prevent blocky colour) and traditional foils to lighten up the back whilst lifting the tips. After the colour was done this is where the toner came into place. A cool iced blonde toner was applied to the mid lengths of my hair to lift the colour and leave that cooler feeling. Overall I love the finished result, still keeping my natural roots but spicing things up at the bottom means I can play around with a new colour without it being a complete transformation. The Vixen & Blush salon is gorgeous and with it being round the corner for work I can see me sprucing up my colour on a more regular occasion.
