The In Shower Tanner

in shower tan

You ready guys? Because it’s time to talk in shower tanning. Who knew that was ever going to be a thing?! I can imagine the guys in the labs whilst this was being concocted feeling like magical wizards knowing they were making a breakthrough product. I mean honestly, who thought this time last year that St Tropez were going to casually launch a gradually tanner that you use inside your shower. A faux tanner that doesn’t require that long development time, gives you fuss free application all from the comfort of your shower. It’s time people, it’s time to get your glow on inside your everyday.

So how exactly does this work? Quite simply actually which makes a change! Whilst you are in the shower proceed as normal, wash your hair, wash your body, do what you’ve got ta do but before you get out, slather on some of this St. Tropez Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion. That’s right, apply from inside the shower (or out if you would rather) to wet skin and leave to ‘process’ for 3 minutes and then wash away.

When I first gave this a go I was still rocking my holiday glow those were the days so didn’t notice an immediate impact however I’ve now used it a couple of times and can  sing it’s gradual tanner praises. The colour you get is soft, nothing too OTT so those serious tanners may wanna pass here, however this does build up that colour after each application. As always you need to be careful with your knees and elbows as it can cling to these areas but considering the ease of application and use, you really can’t fault it. The in shower tanner – I have been converted!

  • When I saw someone talking about this during a #bbloggers chat recently on Twitter I was like “in shower tanner.. what!?” and have been waiting for reviews to start popping up so I could see what people thought of it. This product is so intriguing that I may pick it up after I run out of my ST tanning mousse. Who knew self-tanning could get this easy?

    • I know right! Just for the fact you can put it on in the shower is enough to sell it for me!xx

  • Holly Olivia

I’ve read a few reviews on this product, it sounds like a safer option than standard fake tan which is a bonus as I am very pale and fake tanning terrifies me haha! x

  • This sounds like something perfect for me! I’m not into hardcore tanning and I am so lazy when it comes to it. x

    • I love how you can just pop it on in the shower and I don’t always wait the full three minutes yet still get a lovely soft hint of colour xx

  • Honeypot Blogs

I’m so glad you have reviewed this product, I’ve seen it and I just wasn’t quite how/if it would work! Great post!xx

  • This tanner is winging it’s way to me as I speak, thanks to the £4 off at Boots. I’m very excited to try it out!

  • Oh my lord my prayers have been answered! I am DEFINITELY getting this. My legs are practically transparent they’re so pale, but I hate faffing about with mitts and exfoliators and all that nonsense. This looks so perfect for me

    • Me too! I generally bypass it then wonder why it decides to cling around my elbows ;) This is so fuss free it makes me actually want to tan!xx

  • Wow. Sounds so interesting.

  • I love the sound of this! I’ve been intrigued since I first heard about it. I love using gradual tanners, but I find they tend to be sticky and uncomfortable to wear. This sounds like the perfect solution.

    • I love how you don’t have to have that sticky waiting time, just stand in the shower (aka when my hair mask is doing it’s thing anyway!) and poof you are done!xx

  • I saw this at Boots the other day!! I need to try this as I love a good gradual tan. Does it smell like fake-tan? If so, does the scent linger? xx

  • I really want to try this! I wish you would show us some before and after photos :-) But either way it’s currently sold out both at Ulta and Sephora in the US! Hope it will be back in stock before the end of the summer.

    • Of my hairy arms?! Ahah maybe I’ll sneak some up ;) Hope you get your hands on one to try it out xx

  • After actually getting a tan for once I really want to find a product that can give me the same effect! This sounds great :)

  • Hmm not sure about this one because I’d rather just use a regular overnight tanner, but I like that you can avoid the tanning smell of gradual tanners!

Erin | Erin and Katherine Talk Beauty

    • I like how you don’t have to leave it to develop overnight so if you are in a rush in the morning or evening whilst getting ready to go out you can pop this on for a bit of colour :) xx

  • I’m undecided on whether to get this it does sound great.

  • This sounds so interesting! I definitely want to give this a go. Seems to good to be true though!!

I’ve been using this and have only had one streak. And I’m not sure how I’ve managed to do that to be honest and in this weather I don’t mind standing out the shower for 3 minutes all in aid of getting a tan!

    • That’s incredible! I love how it’s pretty foolproof to use, I just stand in my shower whilst letting the tan (and a hair mask!) work their magic xx
