Spring Nail Polishes

spring nail polish

As much as I fall into a nail polish rut (I’m talking flaking chips, unruly cuticles and some rather interesting filing shapes here) when a new season rolls into town I love perusing through my collection and rejigging the polishes I gravitate towards most. With Spring always comes the pastels, those neutral toned shades that give a pop of muted colour to complement a warm day with the sun shining bright. Here is a rundown of my fav shades that hit the pastel requirements bang on the head whilst giving your nails a gorgeous wash of colour.

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry in Pit Stop 507 – if you need to be out the door to catch a train but forgot to paint your nails in the haste, do not fear as the Barry M Speedy range is here to save the day. Comprising of a selection of shades all boasting the same great super fast dry speed, I picked up Pit Stop for Spring as it’s that perfect grey tonned nude with a smidgen more colour to perk up a manicure.

Sephora Formula X in Unmistakable – although not available in the UK (sob) find yourself in a Sephora and these must have polishes should be on the top of every beauty addicts wish list. Unmistakable caught my eye across the foyer thanks to its pastel jade shade aka my fav. As most of you already know, minty greens are my go to colours and what I love about this offering from Sephora is that it gives that hint of brighter green whilst still passing as a pastel. FYI the formulas are also as good as everyone says!

Essie Fashion Playground – shocker, another take on a green and double shocker it’s an Essie polish. Whoops ;) What can I say I’m smitten by this blue toned mint with a very subtle shimmer which catches that gorgeous sunlight. Limited addition yet still available online (win!) take a look at the swatches to see it in it’s true beauty here.

Essie Maximillian Strasses Her – the latest Essie favourite to hit the shelves is this grey toned green. If you are looking for a muted polish that dances around the cusps of those traditional minty greens, this is the one for you. With those blue/grey tones in the mix you get a more sophisticated colour that, dare I say, looks chic on the nails. Take a look here.
