The Edit: Post Party Fix

post party fix

Is the party season taking its toll on anyone else yet? I’m two down out of a grand total of four parties and I am knackered. The bags are out in full force, my face is unable to deviate from the stage of extreme puffiness and all I want to do is unplug my alarm and hide under my duvet until Christmas morning. The thought of more treats, late nights and puddings is enough to turn me an unpleasant shade of blue, I honestly have no idea how I used to do this when I was back at Uni. Youth – where have you gone?! For days when the social calendar is zapping away too many precious hours of sleep I turn to a team of essentials to help battle away the cobwebs and leave me feeling fighting fit.

Starting off in the shower I use an invigorating body scrub to get that blood circulating whilst washing away any dodgy fake tan lines and left over club entry stamps. This Origins Smoothing Ginger Scrub* smells divine and helps to perk up my senses to get the day started on the right foot. Onto skincare and it’s all about hydration, hydration, hydration. If I manage to put on a layer of the Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask the night before, I’ve done good. If not it’s time for the Origins GinZing Refreshing Mask* to give my skin a caffeine like hit of energy. Paired with the Vichy Idealia Eye Cream* thats also tinted, you could be fooled to think I’d had eight hours sleep ;)

A bold lip is the perfect distraction and on days like these I go for my all time favourite MAC Plumful. The darker purple shade helps to draw attention away from the bags and gives some colour to my face. Throughout the day you will see me with a bottle of water and cup of tea by my side. Personally, I hate tea but in an attempt to counteract the portions of food (and drink) I consumed I find this combo helps me to feel more human. One of my favourites is the Pukka Tea in Peppermint as it settles your stomach whilst giving a bit of a detox. Although my jeans have been replaced with slouchy leggings and I’m contemplating binning the advent calendar (okay, too dramatic!) it is one of my favourite times of year and I’ll detox in the New Year…promise!
