A Summer Snip

When you have shorter hair it can be easy to forget the difference a cut can make. Mine has been getting into the realm of slightly too long for the past few weeks and the need for a snip was becoming more apparent day by day. As my tresses have a tendency to go dry and frizzy at the ends, keeping up with regular trims helps to maintain the condition of my hair alongside removing any pesky split ends that have reared their heads. With this trip to the hairdressers I went back to the same salon that coloured my hair a few weeks ago, different stylist however their cheap rates are too good not to take advantage of.

After a consultation we decided to take just over an inch off in length so as to neaten everything up, I was also recommended that I straighten off the back of my hair to make it neater. As you can see above the style now sits all at one length as opposed to being shorter at the sides. I’ve found that by squaring off the cut my hair looks thicker, more healthy and it prevents sections from misbehaving too much. Overall I am really happy with the cut and although it’s nothing groundbreaking, it does feel so much lighter and also looks more healthy. One added bonus is that it prevents my hair from acting too much like a helmet and trapping in all the heat on a warm summers day! Cooler hair for the win ;)
