Cleansers to me are one of the most important steps in your skincare routine. They help to take all your makeup off, remove the daily grime and leave your skin clean and clear ready for a night of rest and recuperation. Usually I flit between a couple of different cleansers however there has been one recently that has remained throughout and I thought I would give a little update considering I am just close to scraping the bottom of the pot!
The cleanser in question is the REN No.1 Purity Cleansing Balm. I reviewed this back in November and the full review can be read here. This is the first ever balm cleanser I have used and I think it is pretty fair to say I am hooked. For me to get through pretty much an entire 150ml pot I think is pretty impressive and shows how much I really love this cleanser. My only gripe about it is that I can’t use it to remove my eyemakeup. I always remove my makeup first with a micellar water but I like to use a cleanser to really clean my skin and remove any traces of makeup. The problem with this cleanser is when it gets near my eyes it stings. My second gripe (which isn’t really a gripe per se) is that since getting the 150ml tub they have now been discontinued. Boo hiss REN! You used to be able to pick it up for £30 but now they only sell 100ml tubes for £23. With the pots you can really scrape out every last piece of the cleanser and you can manage how much you use easier. It’s a shame that they have completely stopped the pots instead of offering customers both options.
As I have a bit left of this cleanser I haven’t yet rushed out to repurchase it. Instead after all the hype around the Emma Hardie Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm I have picked one up these up to give them it a whirl and see what all the fuss is about! That being said, when I do come to the very end of this cleanser I can see me picking up another one as my it really helps to keep my skin clear and happy – well that is unless the Emma Hardie version blows it out of the water!
