The Edit: Spring Bases

spring base edit

Although I’m not 100% sure as to whether we are currently in Spring or Summer, today is all about those bases I gravitate towards during the warmer months. Being on holiday makes those Summer vibes even more real however back in the UK we usually have to hold on a couple of more months before we can declare Spring over and rejoice in the hopefully warm sunshine of Summer. Although the weather may be in flux the bases I rely on during a heat wave doesn’t change. Able to give that illusive flawless finish that doesn’t disappear two hours in, it’s foundation love.

Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturizer* – here comes my new favourite foundation, I can’t rave about it enough! Everything I could ever want from a base is all wrapped up inside this little pot. Coverage? Check. Long lasting? Check. Undetectable on the skin? Check. It really is foundation perfection and I sense me wearing this throughout the seasons.

Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint – anyone remember this little beauty? A classic from two years ago it was once all the rave and a true foundation fav for the warmer months. This gives the most glowing finish that screams heathy sun kissed goodness. Although I don’t reach for it as much anymore (well done past self for buying the wrong colour) you can’t deny its gorgeous finish.

Chanel Vitalumiére Aqua – aka foundation perfect. I’ve adored this base for many years and am still a fan of its lightweight finish that gives a glowing lift to your complexion. A perfect shade match I can build up coverage when required and know it will stick around throughout the day.

Diorskin Nude BB Cream – one of the only BB creams I own and use, for no makeup days or when the sun is a scorcher, this is the only base I’ll put on. Even though it has the BB tag attached to it don’t be fooled, coverage is still aplenty and its blendable formula gives a flawless finish.

  • I would love to get my hands on the Chanel one to try it out, I’ve head amazing things about their foundations. All of these sound lovely in their own ways, my favourite BB creams are Benefits Big Easy and Tarte’s. They are both amazing products and very light weight great for spring/summer.

    • I still need to try that Tarte BB Cream!xx

      • OMG it’s the best BB cream, and I use to love the Garnier one. But now I can’t go back loving that tarte one and the Benefit one, I bounce back and forth

  • I haven’t tried any of these bases! I’ve heard so many good thing about the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua but I’m quite happy with a drugstore base. Would it be something you say you should get? xo

    • Honestly I really think it is – it is such a gorgeous finish and a staple foundation I go back to time and time again xx

  • All of these I have been dying to try, particularly the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. I’ve been loving powder foundations around this time of the year though as the weather warms up. The MAC Studio Fix is my go-to. xx
