Question – how do you impart that natural glow back into tired and dull skin? Is it actually feasible and can it be as simple as slathering on a couple of sheen enhancing products to counteract those grey tones? This has been my dilemma for the past few weeks whilst trying to deviate away from cold winter skin. Trying to retain an element of luminosity and light to my tired complexion has been a tough old slog but after a bit of trial and error I’ve found the solution to lie not just a single product, but by using a combination of glow getters. Teamed together they capture every angle and transforms your makeup from drab to fab.
Starting at the Base
Without a good base, anything you add on top will end up looking sub par. To inject that glow from the very beginning I flit between two of my favourites, the Pixi H2O Skin Tint in 2 Nude and the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone. For an everyday inner highlight I opt for the Pixi offering as it gives a more natural finish whilst evening out your skin tone. For nights out it’s all about the Becca Skin Perfector with it’s shimmering goodness. Packing a beautiful glow full of radiance this lifts the skin and helps to create a flawless base.
High Five for Highlighter
Once you have your makeup application perfected – pop on a tiny bit more illumination with a hit of highlighter. I opt for two, firstly an under eye pen to counteract those pesky blue tones and secondly a golden glow to make those cheekbones stand out. The combination of the two creates dimension on the face and gives a more defined appearance – oer ;) The Estée Lauder Ideal Light Brush-On Illuminator in 07 Soft Pink gives incredible light under the eyes and after application the whole area looks more awake, you only need a small amount for it to mask any bags or dark circles. The Benefit Watts Up Soft Focus Higlighter brushed along the high points accentuates your features whilst the golden colour is flattering on a multitude of skin tones. Highlighter match made in heaven!
