Let’s Talk Bases: Part 1 – Introduction

foundation_review

Look at me showcasing a picture solely of foundations when I have been swearing off bases for the past few months. The reason why these beauts have appeared is due to the fact their reviews are becoming long overdue. Whilst on holiday in the States (I know you thought I was done talking about that darn holiday but here I go again!) I stocked up on a handful of bases. Unfortunately though since returning with a golden tan and enjoying the glorious British Summertime, I have not only been foregoing foundations, I have also been too tanned for the shades I bought. 21st Century problems aye!  Now the clouds are starting to form (sob) and the tan is slowly disappearing (double sob) it’s time to put these to the test.

Instead of trying to cram everything I have to say into a single post, I thought I would use today to let you know about a mini upcoming foundation series. That’s right over the coming weeks I will be putting these bases to the test and letting you know how they fare up. Nothing will escape my opinionated mind and it means that I will be able to give you a full and honest review. This is part 1 – the introduction and then each foundation will have their own dedicated feature.

My question is now to you, is their a particular base pictured above that you would like to see a review on first? Also would you like me to extend the feature and review old bases I have in my collection including the Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Makeup and the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. Let me know your thoughts =)

I would love to see a review on the foundation on the far left. It looks like Maybelline’s Fit Me Foundation which I use but in a much darker shade lol. I would love to hear your opinion on it (:

    • It’s actually the Kevin Aucoin Sensual Skin Tinted Balm – haven’t tried the Maybelline foundation =) xx

Its really nice but I digress is a tinted balm like a tinted moisturizer?

        • I find a tinted balm to be slightly thicker in consistency when you apply it. Still has a sheer finish but a bit thicker on the skin =) xx

Oh I didn’t know that I actually just found out about tinted moisturizers I used to just mix my foundation and moisturizer together lol

          • Still works a treat =) xx

Especially in the summer when I try to be very light with my makeup lol

  • I have all three bases in your pciture. The Dior BB cream is my absolutely favourite! I reach for it everyday in the past summer months.
However, I would love to hear your view on the Kevin Aucoin Balm (far left), I found it a bit too thick for my liking & quite a hard to blend. I had high hopes but was disappointed escially with the heavy price tag.
