Hydraluron – Usually £24.99 but currently £16.66 at Boots

Today is finally the day. The moment has arrived and it is time to put the much hyped and much loved Hydraluron serum to the test. If you are a reader of beauty blogs or avidly refresh Caroline’s Skincare mecca Beauty Mouth like I do, you would have heard about this wondrous serum. Coming from the company that gave you Nanoblur, the no fuss great results moto has been transcended into this little serum. Aimed at retaining water this will make your moisturiser more effective and help out anyone with dry or dehydrated skin.

Although this has been raved about for months I’ve only just delved into the World of Indeed Labs and given Hydraluron a go. It may have been the price point that put me off or the fact I doubted my skins ‘real need’ for this addition, but whichever it was it kept getting bumped down my wishlist. That was until Boots offered an almighty third off the retail price and I snapped it up faster then I knew possible. Once firmly in my grips and back in the safety of my room I then had the task of working out when to use this. It might sound simple, it’s a serum so pop it on after toner and before your moisturiser but as I already use the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo things were a bit more tricky.

After some trial and error I now use Hydraluron after Effaclar Duo and before my moisturiser. I also reserve use solely for the mornings as underneath an evening serum or oil I found it would slide off my skin. This does result in my morning skincare routine ramping up to seven steps (cleanse, exfolating toner, hydrating toner, Effaclar Duo, Hydraluron, Moisturiser then SPF) but I find it leaves my skin in the best condition for the day ahead. Hydraluron is the World’s first hyaluronic acid that is 100% free of any animal derived materials and this magical ingredient is able to absorb up to 1000 times its weight in water. In the short time I’ve used it my dehydrated skin last’s better throughout the day and dry patches are kept at bay. Hydraluron, it looks like you really are a winner.
