Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Peach Whipser | Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Lush Nectarine | MAC Powder Blush in Melba | Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy

One of my favourite types of blushers to pop onto the apples of my cheeks (and clearly buy :P) is coral toned blushers. I think that they are the most flattering shades for my skin-tone and I adore the colour and life it adds to my skin. Believe it or not until last year I only had a single coral blush and that was MAC’s Melba. This has to be hands down my favourite blush of all time. Now don’t get me wrong there are a lot that come close, but this was the first high-end blusher that I bought, the only blusher I used pretty much for years and I think I have gone through about 3 of them! That’s when you know its love! Melba is the swatch second on the left and is a matte blush. It comes out quite pigmented so you don’t need a lot when applying it. I find this shade does the best job of warming up my skin and making it look more healthy and alive. I love that it’s a matte shade as then you don’t need to worry about any specs or glitter bits and a lot of the time I wear this without contour too as you just don’t need it!

The Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush was the second coral blush that I added to my collection and I picked it up when in New York for a friends wedding. Why Tarte is not stocked in the UK will forever baffle me (seriously can we start a petition for this?!) as this really is a beautiful blush. You can see how much I love it – hello pan! This is the most furthest right swatch and you can see it packs some intense colour. Lightly goes is best with this blush but once applied and blended it gives you a subtle flush that really lasts all day. I love this blusher when going out for an evening as throughout the night this blush stays in place looking boot-iful!

Finally are the Laura Mercier additions. Finds during 2012 I initially got Peach Whisper which was followed up towards the end of the year by Lush Nectarine. I think Peach Whisper has to be my favourite out of the two as it is a bit more subtle and packs less shimmer. I know I can grab that any day and it look amazing whereas Lush Nectarine I would save more for the Summer. Peach Whisper is the swatch at the top and Laura Mercier is next to Tarte Tipsy. The formulation of these blushers are a dream and they glide on to your cheeks. The pigmentation is really easy to work with and can be built up or left subtle depending on what look you are going for.

These four blushers are what I reach for the most and pick out day to day to apply. The coral tone is beautiful and whether it be a blush, lipstick or highlighter (I’m looking at you stereo rose!) these are by far my favourites.
