A New Year

hello 2017

Well here we are, 2017! The previous year is behind us and, as with the start of any New Year, our thoughts turn to goals, plans and prosperous thoughts for the fresh set of 12 months ahead of us. It’s been a while since I’ve sat down and typed in the space of the Internet, it’s quite astounding how quickly you can fall out of a routine as soon as you stop. Blogging quite simply was ingrained in my day to day life and, although it’s been refreshing to take a step back and have a proper break for once, it does make me wonder how I made so much time of it. Priorities change, lives evolve and a challenge for myself in 2017 is to establish how I want to bring that routine back into my life whilst keeping a balance alongside friends, family, fitness and personal goals.

Although in 2016 we saw a lot of heartache, political confusion and questioned change, for me personally it was a fantastic year of growth and achievement. Moving into a new role at work, delivering a huge show, going to Montreal and moving into my flat, I felt like in 2016 I was finally able to position my life more towards where I wanted to be. Battling away the excuses and taking charge, I feel like I’ve been able to go into 2017 strong, positive and for once, not gunning after a big life change.

It’s true what they say, as you get older you do stop caring about those small insignificant insecurities. A refreshing change considering during your teenage years those thoughts can dominate your life. Don’t get me wrong, they aren’t completed dissolved, but I’m trying to embrace it when they aren’t niggling away! For me, 2017 marks the year I turn 30 – a big number that can panic some but I’ve found it has empowered me. I’m looking forward to taking on that new chapter in my life, whatever it may bring.

I’ve not set myself ’30 things to do before I’m 30′ nor am I back here to declare you’ll see a new blog post from me every day at 7am. Instead, as I’m sure long time readers will have seen, we are all growing up and it’s refreshing to blog/live/create content without having to set yourself boundaries or rules. I’m the type of person that hates letting people down, false promises are the worst and I refuse to make them. Instead, let’s see what these new 12 months bring us.

I’m not gone, I’m not back, I’m here being honest. Honesty can be so rare and that’s something I’ve always worked hard to keep within all the content I create. Thank you to everyone who is here reading this, engaging with me over on Instagram @agirlandabeauty blog or Twitter/Snapchat @girlbeautyblog and a huge thank you for the continued support it means a lot. Here’s to 2017!

It’s good to see you back, it’s true life moves on and our priorities change, it sounds like last year was very hectic for you with lots of thing’s changing. I hope you continue to post on and off when you can.
Take care and all the best.

    • Thanks love – felt a bit weird writing a blog post but a good weird :) Like writing a letter to an old friend! Hopefully will be back here soon xx

  • It’s so great to read you. In your writing I can read a super mature woman that knows what she wants and doesn’t care about what anybody else can think. And I totally agree, it’s better not to do any promises, but instead just post when you want and see what happens. Happy new year!

    • Oh Paula! That comment means a lot to me and I’m incredibly to happy to hear that person comes across in my post :) I’m lucky to have great readers like you!xx
