Real Talk: Flaws

Needless to say, I was a little bit nervous about uploading this video. It’s hardly your traditional YouTube share what with the shoddy lighting and feelings chat but then that is the crux of why I started this Real Talk series. Not so I could share poor quality videos but instead so I could attempt to remove the perfected production and open-up the space to talk about something real, something that we feel and that tries to understand or dissect this perfect persona the YouTube world and social media has created.

Before I get carried away and jump back on my soap box the safest thing is just to let you click play. I would love to know any feedback, whether you enjoy these styles of videos, whether you want other topics to be discussed or whether you preferred if I kept things within the realm of beauty. At least I hope this encourages different opinions to be shared and topics to be discussed. Internet hugs all round <3

  • I love this! A lot of times youtubers only post what it’s going to bring them followers but is great that you can be this real :)

    • I’m glad the real nature came across, it can be tricky in videos! So glad you liked it :) xx

  • This was lovely to see. I look forward to more Real Talk videos in the future :)

What you’re saying is so true. Women especially are tearing each other down these days when we should be standing together. Thank you for doing this!

    • My pleasure – hopefully, even just a little bit, it will encourage everyone to be kinder and stop letting media dictate what flaws are xx

Another great subject for a video in this series. I couldn’t agree more with what you have said. We all have our flaws and that’s what makes us who we are. It would be a very boring world if we were all the same. There is just to much emphasis on having to be the best and brilliant at everything and it just knocks people’s confidence. I hope you continue to do more posts like this because it is something different from what you usually see people talk about.

    • Thanks for your lovely comment – I really struggle with the amount of media focus towards changing or ‘having’ to make yourself better. As you say we are all individuals and that is what is so amazing. We shouldn’t be made to feel we have to hide behind what is different xx
