The Sunday Share – Illuminating Makeup

illuminating makeup

As soon as those golden tones being to disappear from our skin and the sky for another year my thoughts immediately turn to how the heck do I get it back?! Obviously I’m unable to stop the seasonal shift, pretty sure that stuff is set in stone however you can switch up your daily makeup and skincare picks to bring back that luminosity and golden hue without needing to sign up for a spray tan.

A mixture of skincare and a few key makeup switch-ups is all you need. To prevent dry skin from eating up makeup throughout the day I ensure I am primed, hydrated and ready for action thanks to the Marc Jacobs Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Primer. Swoon alert here people – this stuff is b.e.a.u.tiful! Now for base, hearing me say the words L’Oreal True Match may have you raising an eyebrow in curiosity. Agreed, the old formula was heavy, long lasting and pretty full coverage however their newly reformulated offering has that dewy kick leaving your complexion looking healthy and lifted.

It can be tempting in the cooler seasons to load your skin up with makeup however opting for light yet illuminating products is the way to go. You can still conceal those unsightly imperfections as the Charlotte Tilbury Retoucher gives coverage that meshes with your skin for ultimate coverage boosted with hydrating black tea ingredients to keep everything moisturised. Keep those cheeks looking flushed and full of colour with the Smashbox Halo Long Wear Blush in Warm Glow* and the Kevyn Aucoin Celestial Bronzing Veil in Tropical Days and it’s almost as if those sun shining days are still around.

Not satisfied? Want more glow? Don’t worry I’ve got you covered and so does Tatcha with their Dewy Skin Face Mist*. One spritz is all you need for some seriously highlighted glow. Forget about the contour, baking, highlighter on fleek, all you need is some of this in your life and on your face to create that extra dimension. Luminosity – you ain’t going nowhere!

  • God I love a good dew. I know winter is supposed to be all about the matte but I want to look like a shiny snowflake! All of these are beautiful suggestions.

  • It’s so nice to hear such good things about True Match, I have wanted to try it for ages and now it’s been reformulated I think I’ll have to pick it up, maybe in the 3 for 2!

  • Love the sound of the dewy skin mist – I often use hydrating mists to get that effect, definitely into the idea of something designed specifically for that purpose though!

  • The MJ primer is amazing! I wear it pretty much every day under my base. The Tatcha dewy mist is on my list to try, I might just get the travel size bottle first just to see how it will work for my skin.

  • I really want to try the Marc Jacobs primer, anything that’s coconut is something that I need. My skin is usually oily but in the winter I know that this primer would be great for my skin.

  • It seems like everywhere I look, I see the Tatcha mist! Have you tried mixing the Becca shimmering skin perfector in with your foundation? I usually do that and add a touch of Argan Oil.. beautiful, dewy, glowing skin!

    • I haven’t! At the moment I just spritz it over makeup or before I apply anything and that works great :) xx

  • I want that Tatcha mist so badly! Lusting after these products! xx

  • Sounds like a gorgeous look!
