skincare

Over the past few months my skin has been going through an interesting transition. Gone are the smooth textures, even skin tone and blemish free face, instead my chin and jaw line has been replaced with a number of mini bumps, breakouts and all things nasty. Why this happened I am still unsure – stress? Diet? Skincare? One of these factors has oh so joyfully caused havoc with my once clean and clear skin. Understandably as soon as breakouts occur you go straight to your skincare stash to kick everything back into shape. Being a beauty junkie I can find it hard to stick to the same products day in and day out but in order to fix what was going on I made sure I adopted a stable skincare routine that was filled with blemish fighters and calming solutions. Over the past two weeks *touch wood* my skin is starting to settle down and I have a funny feeling it’s down to these three gems.

It’s no surprise that the Caudalie Beauty Elixir features here as whether my skin is clear or not, this is a staple. I find it helps to reduce redness, calm irritation and my skin drinks it up. Either misted across my face or sprayed onto a cotton pad for a more astringent effect, this helps with a multitude of skincare woes and I wouldn’t be without it. Throughout the breakout period I’ve found using a good oil in the evening helps prevent my skin from getting too dry, it also helps with the breakouts and prevents any scars.. The Trilogy Rosehip Oil* has been happily added into my skincare routine and although I’m not a fan of the rosehip scent, there is no denying this has helped out with my skincare woes. Finally, the biggest hero, Alpha H Liquid Gold. I have almost finished up my second bottle and as soon as I do a third will be on it’s way to me. Using this three times a week dramatically improves the quality and appearance of my skin and this has made a big difference in removing those pesky blemishes. Everyone needs this in their skincare routine!

  • I too generally feel like my skin is less than average at the moment, I see to be breaking out, I feel crappy and my skin looks awful. I’ve really tried stripping back my routine and I’m relying solely on Clarins Double Serum, so far it seems to be a winner!

    • I’ve found really upping my water intake and using the Alpha H Liquid Gold more frequently helped a treat – will defo take a look at that Clarins Serum :) xx

  • I’ve been hoping to try the Trilogy Rosehip Oil for a while now. I’ve heard such great things about it! I’ve been using the Caudalie Beauty Elixir quite often recently as well. It’s a good one in this hot weather. xx

I have had terrible skin lately, I have tried so many different products but nothing worked, all the things I tried made my skin so sore, it made me feel so bad about myself. I went right back to basics and I am now using just water to wash my face and my skin is so much better now, I think sometimes we just use to many different products that are not right or to harsh for our skin. It is just a case of finding what suits your skin the best.

  • I adore the Beauty Elixir, I start using other things but always come back to it! Still haven’t tried Liquid Gold after all this time though, I really should… Loved this selection of products! ;) xx

    • Thanks lovely! Whenever I stop using the Liquid Gold it really shows in my skin – it needs it haha!xx

  • Fantastic choices! I find that despite how depressing it is when my skin decides to play up every so often, it’s slightly exciting that you get to splurge on some new beauty goodies and be able to justify a spending spree! Not that that stops me from spending too much anyway, #beautyaddictproblems
