Sin City

Ladies and Gentleman – I am overwhelmed. I’m not a person to be left speechless very often but it has happened. You may have guessed from a couple of sneaky Tweets and Instagram posts, I have flown over to Vegas, Nevada, the casino town built in the desert. After arriving at the hotel around 9pm last night, instead of immediately getting 40 winks, we had a quick change and headed straight out to see what the town has to offer. All I can say is WOW. I didn’t know quite what to expect but everything is bigger and more glitzy then your hearts could desire.

The lights, casinos, shops and ability to walk down the street with a beverage in your hand took me by surprise. I may have walked throughout the Bellagio with my jaw dragging along the ground constantly amazed by the sheer grandness of everything. It really is an adult theme park and anything you could want is within arms reach. My mum and I are staying in the Vdara Hotel which is a non casino hotel with a walkway straight through to the Bellagio. You get the calm of the non-casino, spa element, yet you are a mere walk away from the hustle and bustle.

What I’ve learnt so far? This town really never sleeps. If your mum asks you if you want a drink and you spy a bar with a bounty full of slush puppy machines, be prepared to spend $25 for two puppies as they will automatically contain a double shot of vodka! Today the plans is to hit the shops and explore the Strip. I am still pinching myself that I am here and hope my bank balance at home doesn’t start having a heart attack. Excuse me whilst I go and win big on the Sex and the City slot machine.

  • Have an amazing time. I love Vegas and even my mum who swore she wouldn’t like it now thinks it’s better than NYC! We’re heading back there in September and I can’t wait – keep the Vegas posts coming

    • Thanks lovely! So far it has been incredible! A lot to take in but you just don’t get bored! Bye bye bank balance ;) xx

I just got back from Vegas a few weeks ago and my reaction was the same! Definitely go see the Venetian, that was my favourite hotel by far – it’s crazy (and had a Sephora practically attached to it). I’d recommend Cirque de Soleil too, we went to Zumanity (the risque one) in New York New York and it was such a laugh.

    Have the best time! xx
