chubby sticks

It’s no secret that I am a massive fan of lip pens. Chubby sticks, gloss pencils, colour crayons, you name it, I love it. When I recently had a spur of the moment spring clean throughout one of my lip draws I noticed how many of these lip crayons I had managed to pick up. From a range of brands and in shades spanning from coral, pink to even dark berry tones, I’ve managed to accumulate quite the collection and it’s no surprise why once you’ve given them a try. Ease of application, colour longevity and intensity of payoff, they manage to deliver on every front so it’s no surprise that these little pens have taken the beauty industry by storm.

The original for me was the Chubby Stick which gives a very soft wash of colour whilst leaving the lips feeling moisturised. Their bold sister came in form of the Chubby Stick Intense and throughout Winter this deep berry shade could be seen on my lips most days. It wasn’t long until the high street cottoned on and you saw Revlon, Bourjois and even Soap & Glory getting into the mix. I find the Sexy Motherpucker Gloss Stick to be the most lipgloss like out of the lot in terms of sheen and the Color Boosts from Bourjois were my Spring picks from 2013. The Revelon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains in a gloss and matte option have been the most recent hyped up offering and their large range of shades means there is something for everyone. Have you been a fan of these lip pencils? Which brand is your favourite?

  • I’ve only ever tried the Revlon offering and absolutely love them! I am so tempted by the Clinique ones too, but think the Revlon ones, quality wise, are just as good.

  • I love my lip crayons too. I have 2 Just Bitten Kisseable Balm Stains, 1 Bourjois Colour Boost and within the last 4 weeks have managed to accumulate an additional 4 new Revlon Balms. 3 Matte and 1 Lacquer Balm. Love all of the shades. Needless to say, I have no regrets. Now I just need to pick up a Sexy Motherpucker Gloss Stick and I think I’m good to go. :)

  • Those are some fab looking colours! Crayon lip colours are my ultimate favourite lip products. I love the look of those colours as well – might have to give them a go. I also want to give the Clinique Chubby Sticks for Eyes a go soon, too!
