Well here we are, already three days into the New Year and the start of 2014. I always find the start of the New Year a bit odd – it doesn’t feel like the year has changed until the end of Jan when all the fun and excitement of Christmas is a long lost memory and all you can see in the future is work, work and more work. For me, 2013 was pretty darn super. I spent a lot of time with an amazing group of people, there was a new fuzzy addition, lost loved ones and a big move and job change. This has left me raring to go for 2014 and I find myself looking at my blank Filofax with excitement thinking about what plans and adventures will fill those pages.
In terms of what resolutions I have, for the first time I don’t have any specific ones. It’s hard to predict where the year will take you and I think I just want to grab every opportunity and just try and do more and be better everyday. Life always manages to throw you a curveball when you least expect it and I don’t want to be tied down with lists or resolutions that will no doubt be forgotten about. I’ve learnt a lot about myself over the last year and I want to spend my time making sure that the important things are kept top priority and I don’t get bogged down stressing over irrelevant issues.
When it comes to this blog in 2014 – well who knows! The blogging world is constantly changing and evolving and it can be hard work keeping up. In 2013 a lot of my fav blogs turned professional and made their space on the Internet their job. Props to them as I think they make some of the best content you can find on the web. YouTube has exploded making everyday people celebrities (this still freaks me out) and some people are even turning away from the dear old word blog and turning to websites. I am very open about the fact I don’t blog as a job, never have and honestly don’t think I ever will. I love my day job dearly and the fact that I still blog seven days a week I feel is a testament to how much this is my passion and hobby and how much I love my blog.
Don’t get me wrong I think turning a blog into a professional platform is brilliant but it isn’t something that interests me. I blog because it’s blooming brilliant! I love the people I’ve met through blogging and this to me is an escape away from the everyday where I can sit and talk about the wonderful world of beauty. It is no mean feat I tell you that, leaving the house at 7.50am and returning at 8.30pm on a good day can make it tough. This may result in popular blogs growing even bigger and changing whereas this little space may stay the same. Who knows what this year will hold but as long as I love it, I will be here and I hope you will be here with me too =) Thank you for all your love and support over the years. AGAABB will be four in 2014 and no doubt it’s going to be a roller coaster year!
