Sanctuary Youth Boosting Facial Oil

i finally have an oil in my life and in my daily skincare routine! with someone who has oily/combination skin the thought of putting oil on my face seemed like utter madness. why when your face is oily would you want to add more oil?! well thats exactly the point! if you have oily skin using a face oil means that your skin will produce less oil. as it thinks there isn’t enough it overproduces oil so by adding more oil the oil production will slow down. after spending an afternoon recently at the covent garden sanctuary spa and being recommended this i knew i had to give it a try.this oil helps to replenish your skins own natural oil content and provides plumping and lasting rejuvenation. it contains a mixture of pure oils, sunflower, jojoba and wheatgerm oil (which is a good source of vitamin e). there is also rosehip oil that helps to rebuild and strengthen your skin whilst the inclusion of rose and frankincense soothes and calms your skin to give a dewy-soft radiant finish.
i dispense 2-3 drops of this oil onto my hand each night and then pat the oil into my skin. i have been using this for almost two weeks now and i love it. i never knew i would end up loving an oil so much but it provides my skin with the hydration it was lacking and needed. my only problem with this oil is that i hate the smell. some people might like it but i think the rose or one of the oils in it does not sit well with my nose! even though i cant stand the smell i still use it everyday which shows just how much i really like the product.

this oil costs £17.35 for 30ml but considering you only need 2/3 drops a night it will last you a long time! have you tried facial oils in your skincare routine?

  • i use this every night and i love it. I can’t get over what it does for my skin.

  • i have always steered clear of oily products due to having oily skin but this sounds genius! xx

  • I’m considering it! I’ll have to look up something that doesn’t smell like rose/flowers. I’ll so hate it haha

  • I’ve heard so much good stuff about this oil – I have seriously dry skin so love using anything like this! xxx

  • I love using face oils :)
At the moment I am using Akin Rosehip oil and I’ve got the Trilogy version lined up for when that runs out!

  • I love face oils, I have dry skin & have reviewed a couple, currently I am using Myroo which is suitable for all skin types & 100% natural :)

  • hm Ive been using oil for ages but TBH I buy my oils separately then mix them depending on my skin needs at that time. I use Jojoba as thats good for acne-prone skin, sunflower is good for all types and caster oil which is cleansing.

The almons is good for oily skin which is why you must get on so well with this particular one (avocardo is best for dry)

But I pay about £2 for each oil and I get a huge bottle for that so I feel like The Santuary are overprized at £17 but it will I guess last a long time.

  • I’ll have to try this please check out my blog and maybe we can follow each other

  • I’m still at the ‘putting oil on my face?! madness!’ stage, haha.
This is a really good review though, I’m considering trying it out :)

    • i found it very hard to get over this stage but once i could see the results i knew i had made the right choice =) xx

  • I have so much love for this oil! x hivenn p.s enter my giveaway?

  • Argh, I’m still scared to use an oil on my oily skin :( It just seems too good to be true.

    Devon xx

  • I use Josie Maran Argan Oil from Sephora which is pretty amazing as well. Don’t know if you can get it in the UK though. But yeah, I would never go back to a regular night-time moisturiser. :)

    • will have a look out for that next time im in a sephora (can fly back to new york :P) completely agree regular night-time moisturisers are a thing of the past!xx

  • I love oils for face an body and my absolute favourite is the argan oil. You need to be careful which one to buy, it has to be cold presed. In UK you can find it in Holland&Barret. I usually follow when they get it half price to stock up on the next bottle :D
